SACRAMENTO, Calif. ― The Cal North Game Day Facilitator program is in full force with several clubs taking advantage of this free programing.
The Game Day Facilitator oversees recreational youth soccer matches to make sure there is a safe, fair and enjoyable soccer environment for players, coaches and spectators.
"This is an option for your recreational games to get full coverage with certified individuals without the upfront costs," said Samantha Moos, Cal North Game Day Facilitator Program Coordinator.
Following completion of the required Cal North curriculum, the Game Day Facilitator will be assigned by their (club, league or district) to participate in the management of recreational games using applicable Laws of the Game and Cal North game-day policies.
The following clubs/leagues have already taken advantage of this program and we certainly appreciate their cooperation in implementing GDF to their clubs/leagues:
- Madera Youth Soccer League
- Valley Youth Soccer League
- Mariposa Youth Soccer League
- Ceres Youth Soccer Organization
- Clearlake Youth Soccer League
- Ballistic United
Since the inception of this program, 170 participants have benefited from it with more GDF courses planned for this year.
"Each club can use their own incentive program to compensate these individuals. No cost to the club, no registration fees for the individual, just need an indoor meeting space available to teach the course," she added.
