Beginning this season US Youth Soccer's recently restructured National League will now feature the National League Series and National League Playoffs. Applications for the National League Showcase events are now being accepted. These events are for the very top level teams across the nation and over the years some of Cal North’s elite level teams have participated in the National League.
The USYS National League has been split into three sections of competitions with 13 regional conferences.
The National League Showcase Series and the National League Playoffs are two new sections that give teams across the different conferences an avenue to compete against one another. The playoffs also come with the opportunity to advance onto the USYS National Championships.
As of June 7, 2019, teams from Cal North fall under the Pacific Conference along with Cal South. Beginning with the 2020/2021 season, Cal South teams will compete in Cal South’s Pacific Conference powered by CRL and Cal North teams will compete in Cal North Pacific Conference (CNPC). The top teams from Cal North and Cal South will then advance to the Regional Championships and can participate in the National League Showcase Series.
We are sharing this information with you and Cal North competitive team administrators so that teams have the opportunity to submit an application should they be interested in participating. Keep in mind that Cal North's CNPC program will serve as a qualifier for future National League events.
Teams in the U14-U19 Boys and Girls age group from the different conferences can play at the national level for both the National League Showcase Series and the National League Playoffs. The winner of each of the four groups of the National League Playoffs will continue on to the USYS National Championships.
